All For Pete Sake
Welcome to All For Pete Sake, a nonprofit dedicated to helping those in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction in the Columbia, SC area. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide financial assistance and support to individuals who are rebuilding their lives. Whether it's helping with bills, rent, or other essential payments, we're here to lighten the load during your recovery journey.
Our story is inspired by the unwavering love and support of Walter "Pete" Bailey, a man who stood by his son, Phillip, through thick and thin. Pete's dedication to helping Phillip through his darkest times, including bailing him out of jail and supporting him through rehab, is the foundation of our mission. Phillip's journey to sobriety began on December 4th, 1998, when Pete took him in and ensured he had the resources and support needed to recover.
Today, Phillip celebrates 25 years of sobriety and is committed to carrying on his father's legacy by helping others in their time of need. At All For Pete's Sake, we understand that life doesn't pause for recovery, and we aim to make the process a little easier for those who are working hard to reclaim their lives.

"My name is Phillip Bailey and my story started in March 1968 when I was adopted by the man in the picture and his wife. His given name was Walter Phillip Bailey, but he was always called Pete by family and friends. What a journey we had until his passing in 2021. He never stopped loving me and believing in me no matter how much trouble I was in. If not for him and all his love, I wouldn't be here for the next journey of love we're going to share in honor of his name. He bailed me out of jail, paid tickets, fines, rent, car payments and the list continues. On December 4th 1998 I finally had hit the bottom and I begged him to come get me help. That's exactly what he did, he came and moved me into his house. So at 31, I was living with my parents and going to outpatient rehabilitation and AA meetings every day. Since I had no driver's license he was taking me to do all this while he was working. As I write this in 2024, I'm 25 years sober. When you get in trouble life continues around you even if you want to stop. All for Pete's sake wants to help as many people with bills and payments while they're in recovery and getting back on their feet…"
